The Movement for “Reforms and Development of Tajikistan” condemns the use of force against protesters in Georgia.
We consider these actions unacceptable and anti-democratic.
The use of violence against peaceful citizens who have taken to the streets to express their disagreement with the authorities’ decisions constitutes a blatant violation of democratic principles.
Repressive methods and violent suppression of the people’s will cannot lead to positive outcomes.
We highly value the democratic aspirations of the Georgian people and express our solidarity with the international community in its efforts to resolve the ongoing crisis.
We are convinced that there are forces uninterested in Georgia’s further development. They aim to undermine the positive changes that have taken place in the country’s social life in recent years and to make it dependent, hindering the Georgian people’s pursuit of a European path of development.
The Movement for “Reforms and Development of Tajikistan” firmly believes that former Soviet republics must choose the path of freedom, democracy, and independence.
This path is difficult, particularly under pressure from forces connected to the Kremlin, but it remains the right and just path.
We call on all parties to the conflict to engage in dialogue and resolve their issues peacefully, and we urge the international community to support the Georgian people in their aspirations for democratic development.
