With the utmost respect, we announce that, at the official invitation of Mr. Fazal Rahman Oriya, Director of the non-governmental analytical center Sahar Discourse Center, the leader of the Movement for Reform and Development of Tajikistan, Mr. Sharofiddin Gadoev, is conducting a working visit to Kabul, Afghanistan.
This visit is being undertaken as part of the Movement’s ongoing efforts to enhance regional security, counter extremist threats, and develop mutually beneficial cooperation with civil societies in neighboring countries. Its primary objective is to foster constructive relations and establish a stable foundation for collaboration with Afghanistan’s cultural, analytical, and academic institutions.
During the visit, Mr. Sharofiddin Gadoev held meetings and consultations with active representatives of Afghan civil society, analytical institutions, and members of the country’s academic, cultural, and social circles. These discussions comprehensively addressed pressing issues such as the strengthening of bilateral ties, revitalization of cultural and educational cooperation, exchange of experience, and support for civil society initiatives.
The parties reached a consensus on the establishment of joint working groups to further reinforce these relations. These groups will be tasked with coordinating activities, developing joint initiatives, and implementing practical projects in the fields of culture, education, social development, analytical research, and support for civil society.
The strengthening of ties between the civil societies of Tajikistan and Afghanistan was recognized as a pillar of mutual trust and a vital component of sustainable regional stability. Both parties emphasized the importance of enhancing dialogue and social integration between the peoples of the two nations. These relations create a favorable environment for the exchange of experiences, support of grassroots initiatives, and the implementation of joint cultural, educational, and legal programs.
During the negotiations, preliminary agreements were reached, including the drafting of a Memorandum of Understanding between civil society organizations of the two countries, the launch of youth educational programs on countering radicalization, and the organization of joint conferences and seminars.
Furthermore, the parties acknowledged the importance of convening scientific, cultural, and social events and expressed their readiness to deepen their cooperation. They also proposed the establishment of a permanent platform for civil dialogue, which would not only connect the two countries but also contribute to broader regional integration.
The Movement for Reform and Development of Tajikistan firmly believes that by expanding such mutually beneficial relations, it is possible to consolidate a durable foundation for cooperation, solidarity, and inclusive stability across the Central Asian region.
