Who Are We?

The “Reforms and Development of Tajikistan” Movement, established on March 15, 2018, in Amsterdam, represents a powerful and inspiring political force, born from the aspirations of Tajik migrants and a new generation of progressive reformers, many of whom have been educated at leading Western universities. Their goal is to fundamentally transform the future of their homeland by overcoming Tajikistan’s political and socio-economic challenges and turning it into a modern, progressive state.

The Movement focuses on creating a competitive economy, modernizing the agro-industrial sector, and generating jobs, which opens up new opportunities for the self-fulfillment of its citizens. Special attention is given to improving the quality of life, with an emphasis on environmental sustainability, infrastructure development, and adherence to principles of justice and solidarity.

Key priorities include the development of education, healthcare, science, and culture, as well as fostering open dialogue between the government and society. The Movement is committed to implementing profound reforms that will ensure sustainable development and prosperity for the country, laying the foundation for its successful future.

The “Reforms and Development of Tajikistan” Movement is not affiliated with the governments of Iran, Russia, or any other foreign states.

What We Are Doing Now

We are actively collaborating with international partners to introduce targeted sanctions against key figures of Rahmon’s regime. These measures include asset freezes, visa restrictions, and bans on international transactions. The goal of these sanctions is to weaken the regime’s financial support by targeting the economic elite associated with it.

We regularly document human rights violations in Tajikistan and submit this information to international organizations such as the UN, EU, and the OSCE, thereby increasing pressure on the regime. We initiate resolutions and campaigns calling for international investigations and accountability for the regime. All available documents, evidence, and facts are ready to be used in international courts to prosecute Rahmon for crimes against humanity.

We develop and disseminate informational materials exposing the regime’s repressions, mass killings, and corruption. This includes publishing investigations, creating documentaries, podcasts, and blogs that shed light on the real situation in the country.
